Union Dues and Strike FAQ

Hello Union Siblings!

Starting January 1, 2026, there will be a mandatory dues adjustment for all International AFSCME Unions which includes our Local 328 representing OHSU workers.

There is no change to the dues rate, but the required minimum and required maximum amount of dues have been adjusted upwards. Your specific dues can be viewed on your paystub. If your current dues are above the minimum and below the maximum (i.e. "in the middle") this change will not have any effect on your dues. If you are currently at the minimum or maximum dues amount, you should see this increase take effect on the first full paycheck starting from January 1st. The adjustments are shown in the table below:

Note: OHSU has 26 pay periods per year; however, dues are only collected for 24 of these pay periods per year.

There is an updated AFSCME Local 328 Dues Calculator on our “Resources” page at https://www.local328.org. You can use this calculator to determine your per pay period, per month, and per year dues totals for 2026. If you have any questions on this adjustment, there will be a discussion and forum around this in our monthly meeting taking place on December 3rd. We hope to see you all there!

Our Strike FAQ has also been updated with the questions and answers from the Townhall held on Nov 11th. If you missed it the recording is up on our AFSCME 328 YouTube channel.
