Presents from Partners

Local 328 is happy to announce that we are again working with Labor’s Community Service Agency (LCSA) Presents from Partners to lift up families in our local as we go into the holiday season!

What is Presents from Partners?

This is a program administered by LCSA, the same folks who administrate our Hardship Fund. Members with families experiencing hardship can request a referral to Presents from Partners and be the recipients of age-appropriate gifts for their kiddos for the winter holidays.

How Can You Help?

We are prioritizing cash donations due to logistical difficulties with toy collection. You can give $1! $5! Or more! Our local has roughly 9,000 members. If even 2,000 of us donate one dollar, we will hit our goal of $2,000! We understand times are tight, but even a small gift helps to brighten a family’s holiday season. You can make an early donation by clicking here: https://givebutter.com/fall-2026-afscme328.

However, if you wish to donate new, unopened toys, please see the wish list  and plan to drop them off on Wednesday, December 2nd from 9am-4pm at the Laborer's Facility (17242 NE Sacramento, Portland OR 97230) OR email presents@lcsanorthwest.org to coordinate shipping directly to LCSA. If neither of these options work for you, reach out to us at treasurer@local328.org to coordinate physical toy gifting.

How Can You Access Help?

You can apply to be referred to this program here by November 13th. Your application will be screened, and we will let you know if you have been referred to the program or if we were not able to refer you, as well as additional resources. Referrals will be prioritized by the information provided in the application, so please add as much detail as possible. Applicants must be Local 328 dues-paying members to be considered. Priority will be given to applicants who did not receive from Presents from Partners in 2025.

Last year Presents from Partners served 38 families (161 individuals) within AFSCME locals with toys, food, and gift cards. The majority of folks served were from Local 328. Additionally, Presents from Partners also donates extra food and toys to labor-affiliated partners like teachers and union foster families. So many people got a boost when they needed it during the darkest days of the year, because we all chipped in.

If you would like to volunteer to help LCSA with the toy drive (sorting, packing, and delivering) please contact presents@lcsanorthwest.org.

Thank you in advance for your generosity in helping union families in need this holiday season! Let’s do even more this year and send 2026 away with a kick in its pants!
