Recent events from across the nation and from our own government reinforce our need to stand together against hate and discrimination and emphasizes our critical need to join with each other. Our nation, as well as OHSU and our Union, should include a wide variety of diverse voices. This diversity ensures representation across all voices, and serves as a critically important aspect to create equity at work and in our communities.
The American Federation of State, County & Municipal Employees (AFSCME) wants to invite you to our first Diversity Event, which will showcase the diversity of OHSU’s employees and students, and will connect passionate individuals willing to take a stand against discrimination.
Be engaged and let your voice join others. Network with co-workers from diverse backgrounds represented by the Employee Resource Groups. Watch the film, "At The River I Stand" about Martin Luther King and the Memphis sanitation workers strike. Enjoy light refreshments, start a conversation, find out how AFSCME works for you, how diversity in research helps spread knowledge, and how similar we all are. Listen to a speaker. Ask questions.
