AFSCME Local 328 Internal Communication Committe
E-Board Report for 11/16/05
by Claire Tranchese, ICC Chair
The ICC is now holding regular meetings and developing a dedicated group of committee members.
There are two sub-sections of the ICC. The Web-ICC meets once every quarter (4 times a year) and the larger ICC meets every other month (6 times per year.) The last meeting for this year will be on November 30th in DCH 9301 from 12-1:30.
Holding regular meetings has proven to be a good way to make sure Frank Vehafric and I are not the only people involved in the ICC. It has also been a great way to get guidance and feedback about content for the News and Views, bulleting boards and website.
The December issues of the News & Views is now ready and should go out by end of this week. I am searching for someone to take over the editing portion of the News and Views. The committee is doing a good job of deciding upon and soliciting content items, so this hopefully will stay a true editing job. I’m looking for someone who is not already heavily involved in union activities, so if you have any co-workers or friends that might be interested, please mention this to them.
I am also looking for someone to lead our bulletin board project which the committee has been trying to get off of the ground for a while now. Please contact me as well if you or anyone you know might be interested in some project management experience.
At our last meeting of the year on November 30th we hope to do some strategic planning about our goals for the next year. If you are interested in participating, please notify Claire Tranchese.
